How Bitnora Technologies LLP collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated: 6 August 2026

Effective: 6 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Bitnora Technologies LLP (“Bitnora”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal information when you visit our websites (including bitnora.in and our Bitnora POS marketing pages), submit forms, contact us, or use Bitnora POS and related services.

1. Who we are

Bitnora Technologies LLP is a technology company based in Lucknow, India. We provide software development services and cloud products such as Bitnora POS for restaurants and food businesses.

For privacy questions, email us at hello@bitnora.in or write to us at our registered / operating address in Lucknow, India.

2. Scope

This policy covers personal information we process as a business when you:

  • Browse or interact with our public websites and marketing pages
  • Submit contact, service inquiry, early-access, partner, or other lead forms
  • Communicate with us by email, phone, or WhatsApp
  • Create an account or use Bitnora POS (including trials and subscriptions), where we act as a service provider to your restaurant business

If you use Bitnora POS as a restaurant staff member or owner, some data is processed on behalf of your restaurant. In those cases your restaurant (the customer) is typically the primary controller of guest/order data, and Bitnora processes it to provide the product under our customer agreement.

3. Information we collect

We collect information in the following categories, depending on how you interact with us:

A. Information you provide

  • Identity and contact details — name, email address, phone number, city, business / restaurant name, occupation, and similar fields on our forms
  • Message content — project details, inquiry type, partner application reasons, support messages, and other text you submit
  • Account details — login credentials and profile information when you register for Bitnora POS or admin tools
  • Billing details — subscription plan choices and payment-related identifiers processed via our payment partners (we do not store full card numbers on our servers)

B. Information collected automatically

  • Device and technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and approximate location derived from IP
  • Usage data — pages viewed, referring URL, timestamps, and basic analytics events that help us improve the site and product
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see the Cookies section below

C. Information from Bitnora POS product use

  • Restaurant and outlet setup data needed to run billing, KOT, menus, staff accounts, and related features
  • Transactional and operational records generated while using the product (for example orders, invoices, and inventory actions your team creates)
  • Support and audit logs required for security, troubleshooting, and service reliability

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to enquiries, demos, early-access registrations, and partner applications
  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve Bitnora POS and our websites
  • Create and manage accounts, trials, subscriptions, and billing
  • Send service-related notices (for example security alerts, trial status, or payment confirmations)
  • Send marketing or product updates only where permitted (you can opt out of non-essential marketing emails)
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
  • Analyse aggregated usage to improve features and documentation

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us run the business — for example cloud hosting, email delivery (such as transactional and notification email), analytics, customer support tools, and payment gateways — under appropriate confidentiality and processing terms
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed
  • Authorities when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
  • A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to continued protection of your information

Partners or agents in our Bitnora POS partner program only receive information necessary to evaluate or support an engagement you have requested or consented to.

7. Cookies & similar technologies

Our websites may use cookies and similar technologies to keep sessions secure, remember preferences, measure traffic, and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect site functionality.

Where we use optional analytics or marketing cookies, we will do so in a manner consistent with applicable law and, where required, your choices.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide services, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal or accounting requirements.

Lead form submissions (contact, service inquiry, early access, partner applications) are retained while useful for follow-up and relationship management, and may be deleted or anonymised earlier on request where we are not legally required to keep them.

Bitnora POS customer data retention follows the customer agreement and product settings; when a subscription ends we retain data for a limited period to allow export or reactivation, then delete or anonymise it according to our deletion schedules unless law requires longer retention.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and restricted internal access to production systems.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use strong passwords, protect your credentials, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the DPDP Act), you may have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request erasure or withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
  • Opt out of non-essential marketing communications
  • Raise a grievance regarding our handling of your personal data

To exercise these rights, contact hello@bitnora.in with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Restaurant operators seeking data related to their Bitnora POS workspace should contact us through their account admin email where possible.

11. Children’s privacy

Our websites and Bitnora POS are directed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. International processing

We primarily operate in India. Some infrastructure or service providers may process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps intended to ensure an appropriate level of protection consistent with applicable law.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be communicated on our website or by email where appropriate. Continued use of our sites or services after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
